Presidential Cycling Tour 2024

GRUP MEDIAPRO has been working in Turkey for many years, a country straddling two continents that fascinates us. It’s a land of sultans and ancient civilizations, rich in millennia-old traditions as well as top-tier international cultural and sporting events. On this occasion, the Broadcast Media Services (BMS) division was selected by the Turkish Cycling Federation as the host broadcaster to televise the most passionately followed cycling race in the country: the 59th Presidential Cycling Tour.

With a team composed of 84 professionals from various specializations, BMS ensured comprehensive and high-quality coverage throughout the long 8 stages and the 1,179 km of the route. From Antalya to the grand finale in Istanbul, covering the entire eastern coast of Turkey, every detail was meticulously documented and broadcast to millions of fans around the world.

The deployment was so extensive it resembled more of a film shoot: an OB van equipped with eight cameras, two helicopters with Cineflex systems, a pressurized relay plane, four motorcycles equipped with stabilized cameras, and a DSNG for transmitting the international signal, along with the spectacular graphics package provided by wTVision. The HD cameras, 2x Cineflex, and RF systems used on the helicopters and motorcycles ensured sharp and exciting images, enhancing the thrill of every race moment.

To ensure effective and comprehensive coverage, the MEDIAPRO BMS team maintained a frenetic pace, setting up in the morning and moving to the next city in the afternoon after the broadcast. With a rigorous schedule, operations began daily at 6 a.m. and ended at 3 p.m. Over the eight days of competition, a total of 25 hours of coverage was broadcast, and distributed across a wide range of channels, including TRT Sports (the Turkish government’s public television), ASO, and Eurosport.
