About the project
Not everyone has in their record 6 of the 10 finals of the top European club competition of the last decade, the well-known Champions League, and we do. Any player or club that prided itself on having all those cups in its museums would be considered (in eternum) as one of the best in history. And for us, who are not one of those who seek medals, it was enough to have the trust of clients, partners, and friends, allowing us to oversee the television production of those unique moments.
And this is how GRUP MEDIAPRO, in collaboration with Saran Media, was responsible for the production for UEFA of the television signal of the 2023 UEFA Champions League final played in Istanbul on June 10. A new final, the sixth this time for us, which was preceded by Lisbon (2014), Milan (2016), Madrid (2019), Lisbon (2020) and Porto (2021). With a potential audience of more than 450 million viewers around the world who could follow the match between Manchester City and Inter Milan.
Who wouldn’t be thrilled? Pure ‘dedication to service’, our lema. This trophy, the European Champion Clubs’ Cup, also known as the European Cup trophy, the Champions League trophy, or simply the European Cup, is the highest award awarded annually by UEFA to the football club that wins the Champions League. And there we were again, at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, a city that UEFA already determined would host the 2020 Champions League final, but that the coronavirus and its waves forced to be postponed until this year.
MEDIAPRO BMS, as UEFA’s technical supplier, in collaboration with Saran Media, sent more than 200 professionals and three mobile units to the Bosphorus city to guarantee the highest UHD quality in the match signal. 42 cameras were deployed including super-slows, aerial cameras, high-speed cameras and polecams. GRUP MEDIAPRO also carried out the customization of the television signals of Movistar (Spain), ESPN (Latam), Mediaset (Italy) and Canal+ (France).
With these, there are now 17 UEFA competition finals that GRUP MEDIAPRO has produced: 6 Champions Leagues (2014, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023), three Europa Leagues (Baku-2019, Seville-2021 and Budapest-2023); five UEFA Super Cups (Monaco-2012, Tbilisi -2015, Skopje-2017, Tallinn-2018- and Istanbul-2019) and three UEFA Nations League (Portugal-2019, Italy-2021 and Netherlands-2023).
