About the project
Following the invaluable experience as broadcaster of the Pan American and Parapan American Games in Lima 2019, MEDIAPRO BMS was once again elected to broadcast this important event to the world. This is not only one of the largest sporting events in Latin America but in the whole American contintent and is held every 2 years. The figures speak for themselves: over 2,000 hours of content produced and distributed to a potential audience of 200 million viewers through open signal, pay TV and digital channels.
More than 200 professionals from Spain, Portugal, and Argentina supported MEDIAPRO CHILE in this substantial operation as well as several other companies from within the group and the collaboration of broadcast services company, cable pay television, and digital satellite service provider, TVTel. The technical deployment included a 4K mobile unit, drones, and state-of-the-art cameras such as the latest ultra-slow and aquatic cameras which provided unprecedented images and viewpoints to the production. The group also implemented several remote production controls to reduce the requirement for the displacement of heavy vehicles and personnel, minimising the carbon footprint in coherence with the sustainability practices and protocols established by the company. MEDIAPRO BMS was also in charge of managing the International Press Centre which was launched at the beginning of October and served as the workspace for accredited journalists covering the competition.
The Pan American and Parapan Games in Chile were considered the best-organised editions to date and brought together 7,000 athletes from 41 countries across the American continent to compete in 39 sports with more than 1 million people in attendance.
The XIX Pan American Games Santiago 2023 Corporation appointed MEDIAPRO BMS as broadcast host based on our extensive resume in the production of live macro sports competitions, featuring The European Games, The Mediterranean Games, The FIBA Basketball World Cup and other major events including The Champions League Final 6 times in 10 years.
