About the service
We push the boundaries of technology by offering unique camera angles and enhancing the viewer's experience
With the aim of responding to the specific needs of our clients and our ability to offer cutting-edge and tailored broadcasting services, Overon, a MEDIAPRO BMS company, the leader in the deployment of broadcasting services worldwide, created its drone division called Overon Aerial in 2018.
It wasn’t just about better images or staying on top of the latest technological trends; it was about immersing audiences in the action during a live broadcast, giving them a front-row seat to the adrenaline and excitement. The use of drones provides event organizers, news programs, and broadcasters in general with an innovative way to offer “bird’s-eye view” images of events, adding a vertical axis to the viewer’s perspective like never before.
The small and lightweight nature of this technology now allows us to better appreciate the magnitude of large events with zenith perspective images. It captures the real speed of a 100m runner, with a drone flying sideways at the same speed, or the frame-by-frame silhouette of a double backflip 360 on a motorcycle. Nowadays, all major live sporting events incorporate drone footage to convey the realism of the action.
Overon Aerial was also the first production company in Spain to achieve triple authorization from AESA to operate with drones. At the time, this certification enabled the production company to fly in three scenarios simultaneously: over agglomerations of buildings, at night, and within controlled airspace; something that no other operator was capable of.
Our drone fleet captures footage like never before, taking cameras into the action
Our team of over 37 certified pilots possesses all the necessary training and insurance required by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and its Spanish subsidiary, the Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea (AESA), to operate under any circumstances. Beyond their qualifications, our pilots are seasoned audiovisual professionals with over fifteen years of experience, thousands of hours in broadcasting and recording, and a deep dedication to excellence.
With a fleet of over 50 aircraft, Overon Aerial offers both stabilized and FPV drone services tailored to every type of client and production. The combination of our drone fleet with our top-tier technical equipment positions us at the forefront of drone usage/operations.
We can deliver high-quality shots that are suitable for live television, using lightweight broadcast-quality high-definition cameras and real-time HD video downlinks, like many other camera systems.
Our drones have the capability to perform live in multi-camera productions across Spain and select European countries. Thanks to our technical innovation, we offer unprecedented quality and versatility to our customers by adjusting synchronization. Furthermore, by calibrating the optics of our drones with the graphics system, we can implement augmented reality graphics in real-time into the live broadcast, enriching the viewing experience and providing useful data.
